We filmed in a rustic and beautiful setting over five days near Rhinebeck, NY. The second was "Internal Sunshine" with writer Kenneth Hunn and director Jason W. Short. This comedic short by Midnight Treehouse Productions follows two men who work at suicide prevention hotline.

Killer, Inc

Good Reviews for Carry the Zero!
6/13/13 - My performance in Carry the Zero in series C of the Ensemble Studio Theatre Marathon has received praise from both the New York Times and Theater Mania.
"Carry the Zero by Christopher Sullivan gets the awkwardness of teenage hookup culture squeamishly right. Alex Herrald and Megan Tusing are utterly convincing as the teenagers, tongue-tied and hesitant on the way home from an encounter - to call it a date would be an overstatement - that held more than either of them realized." -The New York Times (for full review click HERE)
"Christopher Sullivan's Carry the Zero sticks with this theme of sex and modern relationships, but shifts our attention to the teenage experience rather than that of the post-collegiate crowd. He plants us in the middle of an awkward car ride with Marc and Nicole (Alex Herrald and Megan Tusing), a pair of inarticulate high schoolers who have just had their first taste of the hook-up culture that will plague their dating lives for years to come. Both give strong performances — Herrald, a loveable stoner-type and Tusing, taking on a persona reminiscent of the tomboyish Ellen Page from the film Juno. For a scene depicting one of the most unfortunate aspects of today's youth culture, I give Sullivan (and director Robert Saenz de Viteri) kudos for finding its endearing spirit." -Theater Mania (for full review click HERE)

KO'd!
3/25/13 - So SOMEHOW, the illustrious Team Castro (my team), did not end up victorious at Studio 42's 2nd annual Unproducible SMACKDOWN, but I did, however, manage to win over the critics (or at least theateronline.com).
Here's the blurb:
"Post-intermission is Charise Castro Smith’s “Dance Dance Evolution,” directed by Pirronne Yousefzadeh. ‘Evolution’ features the performance of the night: Alex Herrald proves himself a master of subtlety in a genius interpretation of Yoko Ono. The massive sunglasses. The strange noises. The cooky walk. Beyond brilliant."
-Brett Epstein at theateronline.com
I'll take it.

Sloan Brunch at EST/Readings at the Pearl Theatre Company
3/1/13 - Two things... First, this Sunday, March 3rd I'll be in Willie Orbison's Targeting Tranquility in Einstein on the Brunch, presented by EST/Youngblood. Targeting Tranquility is under the direction of RJ Tolan and due to popular demand, will be a part of EST's first ever double brunch. Two shows! 12pm and 3pm.

Also coming up, I am proud to be a part of a brand new program at the Pearl Theatre Company. The Pick Your Poison series will be an event in which short excerpts from three classical plays are read before an audience, after which they vote to decide which play will be read in its entirety by the company of actors.
Here is how it's tentatively billed:
A theme is chosen. Three classical plays are selected using that theme as a guide.
A group of actors read the first 5 minutes of each selected clasical play to the audience. After hearing all three 5 minute chunks, the audience votes on which play they would like to hear read THAT NIGHT. The actors then read the full play that has been chosen by the audience. After the reading, a musician or full band will play live music, folks drink tasty beverages, mingle and enjoy life.
